of a roof mounted system OR a pole mounted motorized tracking system.
A roof mounted system is suitable for property with a south facing
roof. However, a fixed roof mount loses efficiency by not being able
to move as the sun tracks across the sky. A GMI Star Tracker has the
advantage of being adjustable with the ease of pushing a button! This
allows you to get an extra 40 percent more power ! In addition, our
exclusive fully automated solar electric pv system tracks the sun for
you, no adjustments needed!
A traditional electric meter has one simple job; keeping track of how much power you buy from the grid. However, a grid tied system has a meter that spins both ways, allowing you to sell excess power from your system to the grid and then spin the other way when you purchase power from the grid at night. This new paradigm gives you the grid as your back up power and allows you to make money selling your excess generation to the electric company. You get the best of both worlds; reliability and inexpensive energy. This evolution is no different than the communication and information revolution.
