GMI Solar, Steps For Going Green

We custom design each installation to meet your specific needs and the following general steps may help you understand how the process of "Going Green" will work.

1. First step is to contact us! We will answer all of you questions including logistics and the economics of going solar.
2. We will evaluate your location to find the best placement for solar panels. This can frequently be done with satellite imaging without going to your property.
3. We will schedule a time convenient to meet with you. At this meeting we will take measurements to determine optimum solar strength and look at the layout of your location. This will include locating your electric box and accessing the existing electrical configuration.
4. We will then help you apply with the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) and your utility company to make sure you get the best benefits and tax breaks available. We will also pull the necessary building permits for your town.
5. We will obtain the panels and the materials needed to complete the job.
6. Our professional installers will then schedule the date to begin to make you more energy independent!
7. Once the installation is complete, our installers will contact the building inspector and CCEF for final inspections.
